Phase 3 Construction Update:

Phase 3 consists of construction of a new gymnasium building, partial demolition and remodeling of the existing theater building, construction of a new portion of the theater building, fire alarm and clock/speaker system upgrades for the Administration, Locker Room, Technology, Science, Commons, and Music buildings.  New quad fencing and gates will be installed.  Also included is the painting of the exteriors of the technology, science, and commons buildings.

Theater:  The concrete footings have been poured.  Glu-lams have been installed, which will support the catwalk.  Rough electrical and under-slab plumbing is complete.  After a long unplanned delay with the structural steel, it is now being erected.  Welding of the steel will take a couple weeks.  After that, the catwalk will be hung and metal decking will be installed. The concrete floor slab will be poured in February.  This building is scheduled to open for the beginning of the 2009/2010 school year.

Gymnasium:  The concrete piers for the new gymnasium were poured.  Many of the piers are 4’ diameter and 30’ deep and will support the steel frame of the building.  The fire water and sewer lines to this building are complete.  We are waiting for the structural steel to arrive and be erected.  After that, the grade beams will be poured, followed by the preparation for the slab work.  This building is scheduled to be complete in December 2009.

The clock/speaker and fire alarm systems will be upgraded during the summer of 2009.  The exterior of selected older buildings will be painted during that time.  Gates and fences will be installed around the quad during that summer.
