Help Tips

Hi Everyone,
Technology events helping Cal High Teachers
All Teachers have a link to the
web site in their school loop account, Teachers can now create and update web pages
using school loop.
During Collaboration Day's we will be offering assistance in the T-Building
From time to time I will send a group e-mail relating to technology.
This will be an attempt to "MENTOR" colleagues and provide useful information about our network.
The range of "Tips and Tricks" will be from the very basic to advanced.
If the Tip helps, wonderful, if not DELETE it!
Tips and Tricks #1 -->
If the electricity shuts down your computer, it will not be restarted automatically when the electricity turns back on. You will simply need to push the power button on the front of the computer to turn it back on. -->
If your monitor is showing a screen that says "NO SIGNAL INPUT" it means your computer is not turned off and you must push the power button to turn it on.
If the power goes off throughout the entire school, as a result all the computers shut down. So if your monitor is showing the above message, simply turn the computer on.
Tip#2
If you can not show a video in Windows Media Player you need to Right Click on the top bar and “file-view-play-tools-help” will show up. Click on “tools” then “options” then “Performance” then “advanced” in the lower area of the window then click off the check box for using overlays.
Tip#3
~Hint from the Computer Lab ~
There are a number of templates students can easily access on WORD….
for producing Letters, Brochures, Resumes, Calendars, Memos
Here’s how:
Open Word (2003)
Click File - New
Task Pane (right side of screen) - Click “On My Computer”
Choose template from the pop-up screen.
Tip#4
Lap Top computer connection into the district wireless network-
This is a secured connection you will need to contact Steve Armstrong or Rich England so that they can tell you how to connect to our network.
Thanks!
